You've got to get these basics right, ehwortise it becomes very hard for the end user to understand.One more I'd add would be Let People Know Where They Are at all times.. I know the breadcrumbs kinda covers this, but specifically in the main menu items. whether it's a single page or whole section, gotta highlight that in some way to say Hey, your in the Products section right now!
