Services for International Students

At the University of Bradford, we now have students from over 100 different countries. Currently, 22% of our students are from outside the UK. This means that we have a great deal of experience of working and socialising with people from a variety of different cultures, and if you are an international student you can be assured of a friendly and stimulating environment.

Accommodation

International students who have completed the application process and accepted a place at the University of Bradford are guaranteed a place in Halls in their first year, so you can leave home relaxed in the knowledge that you are going to have your own private room close to plenty of interesting and like-minded people from around the globe.
The University of Bradford has a combination of directly owned and managed halls, and halls that they nominate allocations to, so you're sure to find something that suits your needs. The directly owned and managed halls are located on the main campus and at the School of Management; nominated halls are those at Laisteridge Lane and Wardley House. All applications for halls are administered through the University of Bradford Accommodation Office.

Campus

The main University of Bradford Campus is within walking distance of the City Centre. The Management Centre is two miles away towards Shipley. The library, computing and sports facilities are open for extended hours during evenings and weekends and, together with centralised student support activities, provide all the social, recreational, study and welfare facilities necessary for a rich learning and social lifestyle for both students and staff on one accessible campus.

Health centre

We have a number of services dedicated to looking after our students' health and welfare during their time here at Bradford. The Health Service provides a confidential and comprehensive service of health care, with access to specialist facilities. Students who live in the practice area can register with one of the doctors and make full use of the service. We have four doctors, three nurses and friendly support staff. Minor procedures such as cervical smears and simple operations can be undertaken.
Consultations and treatments are strictly confidential. Nothing is disclosed without your permission. With your agreement, the doctors can work closely with academic staff and the Counselling Service to ensure that you and your studies do not suffer unduly through ill-health or stress.
The Bradford Student Health Service can be contacted on 01274 234979, and there are more details on their website.
